The Once-ler wants to make Thneeds, a kind of cloth that can be used for anything. So he cuts down the Truffula trees, ignoring the warnings of the Lorax, a creature who “speaks for the trees”. When the last tree is cut down and nature is destroyed, the animals and the Lorax disappear. For years, the Once-ler regrets his actions. One day, a little boy comes to ask about the story. The Once-ler gives him the last of the Truffula seeds, hoping he will restore the forest. A book written 50 years ago with a simple message about environmental responsibility and consumerism, a simple message that we don’t seem to understand. For children, but not only\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“But now,” says the Once-ler, “Now that you’re here, the word of the Lorax seems perfectly clear. UNLESS someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
