Persephone, who grew up among mortals, has just arrived in Olympus to live with the gods. After getting drunk at a party, she ends up in Hades\u2019 car &#8211; and that\u2019s how their story really begins. She is portrayed as innocent and strikingly beautiful, which makes her an easy target in a world of powerful male gods who are used to getting what they want. The story is set in a modern world: Persephone goes to university, the gods drive cars, the goddesses go shopping. Yet it still follows the main lines of the original myth, with a playful and often witty tone. The illustrations are adorable, each god rendered in bright, distinctive colours. It\u2019s a fun and accessible way to (re)discover Greek mythology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;Persephone : You know I&#8217;m in training to be a sacred virgin like Artemis, Athena, and Hestia, right ? That&#8217;s the only reason my mother let me come here.
