There is no need to retell the story of Odysseus, who, after ten years of war against Troy, spent another ten years trying to return to Ithaca, his wife, and his son, losing faith along the way through countless trials and adventures. Christopher Nolan\u2019s adaptation is wonderful. The story is beautifully told in a non-linear way, much like the original epic, and the various monsters remain close to their descriptions in the source material. The Trojan horse, although very different from any representation I had seen before, was magnificent. I was initially wary of being disappointed by a Hollywood adaptation of such a great classic, but this version remains remarkably faithful to the original story. Despite a few changes, the sense of adventure, the quest, and the emotional depth are all there. A truly excellent film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
