As we count the pigs, they keep getting eaten in a series of tiny, absurd stories, while the narrator tells increasingly botched versions of the tales and an increasingly exasperated listener corrects him. And then there are those poor little pigs hanging from an abacus\u2026 I\u2019m not sure this is the easiest book with which to learn how to count, but it is certainly a funny and wonderfully silly one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;Once upon a time, there were forty-nine pigs. <br>Why forty-nine? <br>Because 7 x 7 = 49. In any case, the wolf ate them three at a time. And then there was one. He ate that one too.
