This book recounts the Markovic affair, the murder of Stevan Markovic, a man who was very close to Alain Delon, variously described as his friend, lover and bodyguard. Over the years, different versions of the story have emerged, but one thing remains certain: the crime was never solved. The investigation even reached as far as Georges Pompidou and his wife, Claude. The story is exceptionally well told, revealing the many connections within the Parisian underworld of the time. It also offers a fascinating portrait of Alain Delon, a brilliant actor on screen who seems to have played a role in everyday life as well, as though he never took off his mask. As for whether he was a good man, the book uncovers aspects of his personality that are far less flattering. A really good read, with chapters that flow like a novel, while never losing sight of the fact that this is a true and tragic story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
