Han Kang is a South Korean writer renowned for her calm and poetic style. She frequently explores challenging themes such as pain, identity and human relationships in her writing. Her novel The Vegetarian brought her international recognition, winning the International Booker Prize in 2016. In 2024, she became the first Asian woman and Korean to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature. I love her writing and have learnt a lot about Korean history through her books. I am looking forward to more of her books being translated into English.
