Awarded for the first time in 2024, this prize is the non-fiction counterpart to the Women’s Prize for Fiction. It recognises the best narrative non-fiction book written in English by a woman of any nationality and published in the UK. The award is £30,000. As Kate Mosse noted, it is “not about taking the spotlight away from brilliant male writers, but about including women.”
