Harry is returning to Hogwarts for his third year, but this time he is confronted with a significant threat: Sirius Black, a notorious prisoner, has escaped from Azkaban, the wizarding prison, and it is widely believed that he is preparing to kill Harry. Harry also uncovers troubling truths regarding the night of his parents’ murder and learns that Sirius Black is his godfather and was once his father’s closest confidant, but ultimately betrayed him. However, always curious, Harry, Hermione, and Ron uncover the real story and can save Black. Several sympathetic magic elements include the Time-Turner, a magical device that allows them to go back in time, and the Marauder’s Map, a magical map that shows where everybody is inside Hogwarts. These enhance the magic of this episode, which is darker than the previous two. Evil is getting nearer. I love this magical paraphernalia and the story remains captivating.
