In this year-long chronicle, from May 2006 to April 2007, Maira Kalman recounts parts of her life, elements of history, things she collects, paired with seemingly random photos inserted between her beautiful illustrations. It all seems unconnected, but in the end it makes for a very interesting monologue about life, love, war and heaven on earth. Lots of such meaningful thoughts and those amazing illustrations. I love spending time in Maira Kalman’s books.

“MY BRain IS EXPLoding. TRYING TO MAKE SENSE OUT OF NONSENSE, TRYING to TELL you EVERyTHING (Everything?) AND ALL the while time is FLeeing. AND The air around me VIBRates with so Many IMages. Which is great Because MOST Of them are BRitish.”
