Millie is happy to have found a new job as a housemaid for Douglas and Wendy Garrick, a wealthy couple who live in a luxurious Manhattan penthouse. From the outset, however, she senses that something is amiss. Wendy never leaves the guest bedroom, and Douglas insists that Millie does not disturb his wife. Millie grows increasingly suspicious that Wendy is being abused. The story takes a dramatic twist at the end, revealing hidden identities, lies and revenge. Like the first story, this one is both enthralling and stressful, but I loved it.
“For God’s sake, what multimillionaire walks around with imperfect teeth ? Does he think this is England ?”
