Nicholas Van Orton, a wealthy but isolated businessman, receives an unusual birthday gift from his brother: a mysterious ‘game’ that takes over his life. As reality and illusion blur, Nicholas is pushed to his limits and forced to question what is real, until a shocking twist reveals that the game was designed to help him appreciate life again. This film is anguishing throughout, and, as we follow our hero, played by Michael Douglas, we lose our sense of reality and of whom to trust. The film grips you from start to finish, and the ending is incredible. A great film !
