Coraline is an eleven-year old girl who has just moved with her parents to this new house, set in the middle of nowhere. Her parents are very busy so she is quite alone. She explores the new house and finds a little door in a wall, but behind this door is a brick wall. This is until the middle of the night where Coraline discovers that this door leads to a mirrored house with everything Coraline dreams of… especially nice food. But everything is not as sugar-coated as expected. This stop-motion animated film is quite amazing, I am always awed by this technique. The story and Coraline are cute, and it is an excellent film for this Halloween period.

“April Spink: Miriam, really, you’re holding it wrong. See? Danger.
Coraline: What do you see?
April Spink: I see a very peculiar hand.
Miriam Forcible: I see a giraffe.
April Spink: “Giraffes” don’t just fall from the sky, Miriam.
Coraline: Well… what should I do?
April Spink: Never wear green in your dressing room.
Miriam Forcible: Acquire a very “tall” stepladder.
April Spink: And be very, very careful… Now, was there something you came to tell us?
Coraline: No..I guess not. Thanks for the tea, though.”
