Maribel is part of the Madrigal family, a very special family where everyone has a gift. Pepa can control the weather, Isabela can control plants, Dolores has super-hearing. But Maribel, amazingly, was given no gift. On the evening her cousin receives his gift, Mirabel sees their house, Casita, crackling and the magic candle nearly go out. Mirabel decides to save the magic but she gets into a row with her grandmother Alma and Casita just collapses leaving the family with nothing. A confession from Alma that she had lost the meaning of the magic will reunite the family, give them the strength to rebuild Casita and allow the magic to return. A very cute story.
