Adaptation of Nick Hornby’s novel, this film follows the love stories, and particularly the end of the love stories, of Rob Gordon. He is freshly separated from Laura and goes through the details of his five top breakups, starting with his junior high-school love, Alison, a relationship that lasted two hours, three days in a row. He contacts all of them to understand why he fails all these relationships. His encounters with these women make him realise that these breakups were finally not such unfortunate events. In parallel, he works in his record store with two very weird guys, shy Dick and arrogant Barry, both musical experts. The end is a little fairytale style, but it’s a touching film.

“I miss her smell… and the way she tastes. It’s a mystery of human chemistry, and I don’t understand it. Some people, as far as your senses are concerned, just feel like home.”
