A week in paradise at the White Lotus resort in Hawaii. That’s the theory. In practice, it will be a very weird week for quite a lot of people. For Armond, the hotel manager, an ex-addict who won’t be “ex” very long. For the Mossbacher family, rich and full of entitlement, the father obscured by the brilliant mother and their two dispirited teenagers. For Rachel, who wonders why she has just married Shane. For Tanya, a completely disturbed and alcoholic women, who wants to spread the ashes of her recently deceased mother but can’t find the courage to do so. This series is hilarious and dark at the same time. Really liked it. On I go for the next season.
“But after a few years, it doesn’t matter how much role-playing you do or like, toys you buy or porn you watch together, whatever, sex just turns into like a… Like when they do one of those food challenges on a reality show. You know, where they gotta, like, eat like a bowl of live worms, and you just got… you gotta psych yourself up for it. You’re like, “I can do this”. Just hold my nose and, like, suck it down as fast as I can, so I don’t gag. But it’s natural. It would be weird if it didn’t fade.”
