Back in Riley’s head, two years later. She is 13, and puberty hits with the arrival of a Sense of self and four new emotions : Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment, and Ennui. Anxiety takes over and puts Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust in a memory vault. As in the first film, Riley’s life spirals into chaos, she forgets her friends, behaves aggressively towards her parents, and experiences a shivering panic attack. Hopefully, the older emotions after numerous tribulations get back to headquarter and help to equilibrate Riley’s emotions. Again, a very touching film, that questions the place of every emotion and the way our souvenirs are tagged and stocked.

Joy : “Of course I’m delusional! Do you know how hard it is to stay positive all the time? When all you folks do is complain, complain, complain ?! Jiminy mother-loving toaster strudel!”
