The eleven-year-old Harry Potter can finally leave his awful stepfamily and study at Hogwarts, where he discovers the story of the death of his parents, the beginning of his life, and Lord Voldemort. He meets Ron and Hermione, learns what quidditch is, and gets to know the different teachers’ personalities. But Lord Voldemort, even though diminished, is not very far and will reveal his darkness quickly. I didn’t realise that the very first Harry Potter film was so old. It’s so cute to see the actors still young. A little magic, some imaginary beasts, and a friendship that is growing. A really nice film to watch again.
