As the first season, this series explores several storylines. Two major ones are the forging of seven rings for the dwarves and nine rings for the men, with Halbrand/Annatar/Sauron taking control of Celebrimbor and Eregion. Adar decides to attack Eregion, but the Elves arrive and there is a battle between the Orcs and the Elves before the Orcs fall under the power of Sauron. The other major storyline is that of the Stranger, who we learn at the end of the season is Gandalf. He meets Tom Bombadil, a character who is in The Lord of the Rings, but who has been removed from the films. Also in Numenor, Pharazôn becomes king, causing instability, and the series ends with Elendil fleeing from his people. This series is sometimes difficult to follow, with so many stories going on at once, but I love the whole atmosphere of this Tolkien fantasy. Really enthralling.
