Based on Les Liaisons Dangereuses by Choderlos de Laclos, the story follows the scheming Marquise de Merteuil and the charming Vicomte de Valmont as they plot to seduce and ruin others for their own amusement. Valmont sets his sights on the married Madame de Tourvel and the virgin Cécile de Vollanges. This version with Colin Firth as Valmont and Annette Benning as the Marquise de Merteuil is excellent. A very cruel story, but beautifully interpreted.
