Jesper, the son of Norway’s Royal Postmaster General, is spoiled and refuses to work, feeling entitled to a life of comfort. Frustrated, his father sends him to Smeerenburg, a remote, freezing island. There, Jesper finds two feuding families constantly at war, leaving the children neglected and mirroring the adults’ hostility. Tasked with delivering 6,000 letters to earn his way back home, Jesper feels hopeless – until he meets Klaus, a reclusive toymaker living in the forest with a barn full of toys. This will spark the beginning of an unlikely friendship and of the legend of Santa Claus. A love story, a cute little Sami girl and the joy of children discovering friendship and learning at school make for a lovely Christmas tale.

“A true selfless act always sparks another.”
