This series tells the story of the British Post Office scandal, described by Rishi Sunak as “the greatest miscarriage of justice in British history”, in which 900 subpostmasters were convicted of theft and fraud and many others were also affected, all wrongly due to a failure of the new electronic system Horizon. These four episodes are heartbreaking. They show the distress of the people who were accused, people who held the post office to earn a little more money, and who were stripped of their life savings and sometimes their life. The cast is excellent, showing the diversity of people involved across the country, with their accents and backgrounds. The couple who play Alan Bates and his wife are touching, both in their stubbornness to get to the truth and in their devotion to each other. This is an incredible series that tells the story of all these abused people with brio.

“- On what planet is a government going to pay our legal costs ?
– They’ll have to. They own the Post Office. Sole shareholder.
– The only one. The only one awkward enough to sit at his computer, making trouble for twenty years.
– Twenty years so far. Just think of it has a hobby that got out of hand.”
