This book is labelled “a satirical novella”, and this description fits the story perfectly. After losing her husband in a car accident, Alice sees him everywhere, even finding him hiding in her garden. She subsequently learns of several different versions of her husband, all of which are surprising. I had never read any of Freida McFadden’s books before, despite them being everywhere at the moment, so I thought I would start with a short one. This story is completely unhinged and very funny, and it has made me want to try others. I spent a very pleasant afternoon on a terrace in the middle of Switzerland with this book, laughing a lot. It made my afternoon.

“How could I have gotten LED and IUD mixed up? Honestly, they should put some sort of warning on the box of LED lights: These lights will not prevent pregnancy.”
