A woman is about to give birth to her first child. The nurse asks what the chosen name is, and the woman replies “Olikoye”. The nurse is intrigued because the name is Yoruba, and neither the woman nor her husband are from that ethnic group. The woman explains that the baby will be named after the minister who saved the babies in the village where she comes from by providing access to vaccines, drinking water and family planning. The baby was born in the pouring rain.

“The Minister treated all of us like human beings,” he said. “Like human beings.”
