Persephone and Hades continue to fight against the love they feel for each other. Neither of them seems able to admit, even to themselves, that this love exists, let alone confess it to the other. And the powerful gods around them certainly don’t make things any easier, constantly pushing them in one direction and then the other. No wonder they are confused! This volume introduces several new characters and also takes us back into some of the ancient myths: Persephone’s encounter with Ares when she was young, Zeus’s treatment of Demeter, his numerous infidelities, and Hera’s resulting fury. The story is lovely to look at, colourful and playful, even when it deals with some rather disturbing subjects. But then again, the gods of Olympus were certainly no angels!
