This is the story of a single room in a house, beginning long before the house even existed, in 500,957,406,073 BC. It also takes us into the future, up to 2313 AD, though most of the story unfolds during the era we know. Couples, children, family gatherings, laughter, joy, and death – every stage of these intertwined lives is captured. And intertwined they truly are. On each double-page spread, different years appear side by side, with small windows opening onto the past or the future. The shifting yet always harmonious colour palettes add to the beauty of the graphic novel. I found it incredibly beautiful, original, and deeply touching.

“1962. What was that ? Did you say log ? I’m loosing my hearing
1994. Shit, I have lost an earring.”
