Cal is a middle-aged husband and father who has been kicked out by his wife. He ends up in a bar, where he observes Jacob, a womaniser who seems able to pick up any woman he sets his eyes on. Taking pity on Cal, Jacob decides to give him a makeover and help him regain his confidence and masculinity. Meanwhile, Cal’s wife starts dating a colleague, his son falls in love with the babysitter, who happens to be in love with Cal, and several other amusing storylines unfold. Eventually, everything comes together in one big, chaotic mess. A charming, unpretentious comedy featuring an incredible cast, including Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Julianne Moore and Steve Carell.
