We are in the 23rd century. Johnny Rico and his friends have finished their studies and decide to serve in the military. The Earth world Government is exploring and colonising outer space, and they are in conflict with the Arachnids, an alien species. Additionally, Johnny Rico is in love with Carmen, who wants a career as a pilot and prefers to end their relationship. Starships, fights with horrible bugs, corpses brutally torn apart… all that is needed in a science fiction action film. Badly received by the critics when it came out, “Starship Troopers” has since become a cult classic once everyone understood that it was supposed to be a satire. And the only way to appreciate it is by keeping in mind its offbeat humour. A good Saturday night film.
