Marty Supreme is a comedy-drama centred around table tennis. The film follows Marty, a talented but chaotic young ping-pong player who dreams of becoming famous. As he competes in matches and chases success, he gets caught up in scams, messy relationships, dubious sponsors, and increasingly self-destructive behaviour, at times to an almost absurdly funny degree. Fast-paced and energetic, the film slowly drew me in. Although I was not completely convinced at the beginning, I gradually became attached to this ambitious young man, obsessed with fame and success, before he finally realises what truly matters in life.
