Frank Chambers is a young vagabond, going from town to town. He arrives in a diner in California and ends up working there with a Greek boss and his very attractive wife. From then on, everything seems quite obvious. Frank and the wife try to kill the Greek but fail and he comes back home, oblivious to what had happened to him. So they start again and this time succeed with what seems to them the perfect murder. They are however both accused of murder but miraculously acquitted. To them, the perfect life opens up… but not. Highly entertaining.
