This three-part course is given by Dr. Sat Bir Singh Khalsa, Director of Scientific Research at Yoga Alliance, and covers how to access and select relevant research, how to interpret the papers you find and finally, how to get involved in yoga research. It’s interesting to see that there is quite a lot of literature and also that yoga research is like every research if you want to do it properly. Also, I learnt that the Yoga Alliance’s website is a mine of information with webinars and short research videos. The speaker and the Scientific Research Consultant, Steph Winsor, are perfect. An eye-opener on yoga research.

“We have a number of research videos, these are seven-minute brief videos, professionally done. That
summarize the research in specific areas and we have well over three dozen yoga research webinars
on a variety of topics. These are hour-long webinars, in which about the first 35 to 40 minutes is a
PowerPoint presentation that summarizes the research that we have done multiple topics. Yoga for
depression, yoga for cancer patients, yoga in modern medicine, yoga in public schools, yoga for
prisons and the list goes on.”
