Based on a book that relates this real story, “People Who Knew Me” by Kim Hooper, this podcast describes the life of Emily Morris, who chooses the September 11 attacks to disappear from the lives of her husband, family and friends and start a new life in California under the name Connie Prynne. Fourteen years later, and with a child the same age, she is diagnosed with breast cancer and realises that she has to tell the truth to prepare for her child’s future if she does not survive. This very well-constructed podcast brings out many feelings and highlights the human flight or fight survival mechanisms. It’s challenging to understand Emily Morris, but also hard to blame her for what she did. At last, a painful story.

“My hair is falling out Emy, my hair, our hair. Why does it take for us to loose something to realise how much we appreciate it.”
