Last but not least experience in this “Feed your soul” journey: a 12-hour online free writing course offered by OpenLearn – Open University. As much as I like reading, I have never really been interested in writing, but this course was interesting even from a reader’s perspective. It’s divided into three parts: character, setting, and genre. The course uses some extracts of Josip Novakovich’s book “Fiction Writer’s Workshop”, which seems to be a reference. The course uses examples and exercises to get you through the different parts of constructing a story. I must say, it gave me a little tinge of “Why wouldn’t I try ?”.

“In Henry James’ “The Beast in the Jungle”, John Marcher waits for some extraordinary passion to take hold of him; he dreams of it so much that he does not notice he is in love with May Bertram, who is at his side all along. Only when she dies, of neglect, does he realize it.”
