Pete “Maverick” Mitchell is a young US naval aviator, one of the best. He gets selected to train at the US Navy’s Fighter Weapons School, TOPGUN. There, he has to work with the animosity of Iceman and his romantic relationship with Charlie, a civilian TOPGUN instructor. Maverick is known to be unreliable, brilliant but acting with his guts. In one of the manoeuvres he has to fulfil, the two engines of his plane flame out and the two pilots have to eject. Maverick comes out untouched but his friend Goose dies. Not being able to shake away the guilt, Maverick thinks of quitting but the last battle will give him his self-confidence back.
